Inadequate power is one of the major culprits for disconnection issues. And, one of the easiest to troubleshoot (i.e., swap-em-out). It is certainly worth trying since it was once connected without issue.

Good question, but probably a difficult answer. The variables at play are the modem firmware, the drivers, and the router firmware. Something in there is adding to the latency.
